Jim's Certified RV Inspections

Let's talk

An RV is like a house. Before committing your finances to the purchase of one, shouldn’t you need to know in detail what your possible new RV has in store for you before you spend your hard-earned money on it. With an inspection in hand, buyers can decide to negotiate further their purchase or walk away. Consequently, wise sellers, whether they be dealers or private individuals, should want to offer their RV with confidence that the sale won’t blow up over buyers who get cold feet after seeing an inspection report’s findings prior to having an opportunity to remedy those findings. “But,” you ask, “why should we trust a report paid and prepared for someone else?”

Jim’s Certified RV Inspections’ mission statement answers this question.

To prepare clear, concise inspection reports which inform sellers of deficiencies needing to be satisfied for the safety, protection, and peace of mind of buyers.

Whether Jim has prepared a report for a buyer-client or a seller-client, the only thing that informs Jim about the condition of the RV is the RV itself. Jim will report what an owner-seller claims to be true, but it is the RV which tells Jim everything he should need to know to prepare an accurate, thorough, unbiased inspection for his clients. Your reassurance that this reporting is both professional and impartial is based upon the fact that he is governed by and works in accordance with the NRVIA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Jim’s Certified RV Inspections, located in Boston, Massachusetts, proudly serves fellow New Englanders who are looking for a comprehensive, visual inspection of the major mechanical components of a particular rig vis-a-vis the typical, sugar-coated extolling of features and benefits pitched by salesmen and sellers. The details of Jim’s report will depend upon the type of unit being inspected – a motorhome vs a towable RV.

What Clients are Saying

Hired Jim’s RV inspection to do an inspection of a Class B van I was buying that was over 1200 miles from me. I found him on the RVIA website and knew he was the real deal when I had my initial conversation with him. He was extremely professional and passionate about his job. Jim spent time looking over my purchase and also focused on items I had alerted him to. He did a fantastic job identifying items I would have never seen or thought to check. Those items were later brought to the dealer’s attention so that they could be addressed. I would not hesitate to hire Jim for your next RV inspection.

A recreational vehicle (RV) is a *major* purchase. There are often problems that are unseen and unknown, even by the owners. RVs go through heck during their lifetime! Problems can be dangerous and expensive.

Always, always get your RV (yes, even a small camper travel trailer!) inspected before purchase, and on regular intervals during its lifetime. The owners might seem nice and profess easy usage and all the maintenance, but there are often problems lurking.

Next, who do you get to do this? There are plenty of uncertified imposters out there, with minimal knowledge and experience. Trust a pro, an actual highly experienced, certified professional like Jim. He was amazing, friendly, and informative through the process. Great rapport with us (the buyers) and the sellers. Thorough job and report. He found a propane leak the owners weren’t aware of! It could have been disastrous.

Jim performed the service requested and went above and beyond in every way. His price was great, especially considering the huge cost of repair we could have had if we didn’t know about the things he uncovered and even the small problems turned into big ones! He saved us from that, and gave us the confidence to enjoy our RV, which is what it’s for!

I recently purchased a small travel trailer and reached out to Jim for a complete inspection. He was great, took his time, showed me many things about the trailer that I should know( I am a newbie). He also sent me thru email a complete report of his findings, and suggestions of items to buy and yearly upkeep of my trailer. I would highly recommend Jim!

About

Inspecting a sticks-and-bricks home, a used or pre-owned vehicle, or most any used item has been a common-place occurrence for decades. Although sales/purchases of goods are generally based upon good faith, “Caveat Emptor”, that is buyer beware, still applies! However, buyer beware no longer simply pertains to purchases from dishonest sellers knowingly trying to pass off a defective or inferior quality item, but can apply to honest sellers who are ignorantly selling defective or inferior quality items with a short life span. Consequently, It has always been wise to inspect the purchase of used or pre-owned items – especially expensive ones. Jim’s Certified RV Inspections was founded out of a love for the RVing lifestyle in an uncertain world. Jim Kazakoff, its owner, saw several years ago that there would be a growing need for unbiased, third-party inspections of most recreational vehicles because of the sudden demand caused by them growing in greater and greater demand. The end result today is that RV dealerships with new or pre-owned inventory likely have RVs that were slapped together and hurriedly rolled out of the factory without a quality-control check. It is no secret that factories have done so since 2020, after all, any deficiencies could be addressed under their warranty programs. Although Jim has no impact on how RVs are made, he can give buyers an opportunity to have the RV put in proper order prior to closing the deal.
